SCHEME FOR FINANCING SETTING UP OF
AGRI CLINICS AND AGRI BUSINESS CENTRES BY AGRICULTURE GRADUATES

AGRICLINICS
Agriclinics are envisaged to provide expert services and advice to farmers on cropping practices, technology dissemination, crop protection from pests and diseases, market trends, and prices of various crops in the markets and also clinical services for animal health etc., which would enhance productivity of crops/animals.
AGRIBUSINESS CENTRES
Agribusiness centres are envisaged to provide input supply, farm equipments on hire and other services.
In order to enhance viability, Agriculture graduates may also take up ventures in agriculture and allied areas along with Agriclinics/Agribusiness centres.
An illustrative list of activities that can be financed under Agriclinic/Agribusiness centres is furnished below for information.
The scheme is open to Agriculture Graduates/Graduates in subjects allied to agriculture like horticulture, animal husbandry, forestry, dairy, veterinary, poultry farming, pisci culture and other allied activities.
1. Soil, water quality, and input testing laboratory services centre
Objectives: To undertake testing/analysis of soil, irrigation, water other inputs etc.,
Project cost (Approximate)
ii. Capital cost - Rs.5,23,500
iii.Recurring cost - Rs.1,54,800
Repayment Period - 6 years including grace period of one year.
2. Plant protection services centre
Objectives
To provide guidance and consultancy services for control of
various pests and diseases, weeds etc.,
To undertake plant protection services as a package deal from
seeds to harvest.
To undertake regular visits to provide advice, respond to enquiries, undertake control operations using own equipments etc.

Capital cost - Rs.6,75,000
Recurring cost - Rs.2,46,000
Repayment period : 6 years including grace period of one year.
3. Vermi Composting unit
Objectives
i. To provide culture material of the desired species and train farmers and entrepreneurs.
ii. To demonstrate practically the production methodology on the unit that will be set up.
Project Cost (Approximate)
i. Capital cost - Rs.2,77,000
ii. Recurring cost - Rs.3,68,000
Repayment period : 8 years including grace period of one year.
4. Horticulture clinic and Business Centre
Objectives
i. To create facilities for provision of technical guidance, custom hiring services, including grading and packing to the fruit growers under a single roof.
ii. To ensure easy availability of various horticultural inputs and technical/extension services to the orchadists/fruit growers to increase productivity.
iii. To provide plant protection services.

Capital cost - Rs.40,000
Recurring cost - Rs.2,86,000
Repayment period : 7 years including a grace period of one year.
5. Agro Service Centre - Farm Machinery
Objectives
To hire out farm machinery for various farm operations like ploughing, leveling, spraying etc.
To provide services for repair and maintenance of farm machinery.
Project cost (Approximate)
i. Capital cost - Rs.6,56,400
ii. Recurring cost - Rs.2,53,000
Repayment period : 10 years including one year grace period.
6. Agro Service Centre - Farm Machinery and primary processing
Objectives
To provide custom hire service facilities to farmers.
To help farmers increase productivity.
To improve post harvest processing facilities and profitability of farmers.

Capital cost - Rs.7.08 lacs
Recurring cost - Rs.2.62 lacs
Repayment period : 10 years including one year grace period.
7. Private Veterinary Clinic
Objective : To provide veterinary services to the farmers at their door step.
Project Cost (Approximate)
i. Capital cost : Rs.1.46 lacs
ii. Repayment period : 8 years including grace period of one year.
8. Private Veterinary Clinic with retail outlet for feed and medicines
Objective : In addition to providing veterinary services supplying feed and medicines also at the door steps of farmers.
Project cost: (Approximate) Capital cost : Rs.2 lacs
Repayment period : 5 years
9. Private Veterinary Clinic with small dairy units
Objective: Rearing of cattle by the beneficiary in addition to providing veterinary services at the door steps of the farmers.
Project cost : (Approximate) Rs.3.30 lacs
Repayment period : 5 years
10. Private Artificial Insemination centres
Objectives : To provide improved artificial insemination services at the farmer's door step. To undertake breed improvement programme for indigenous cattle and buffalo breeds so as to improve their genetic quality.
Project Cost : (Approximate) Rs.56,000/- to Rs.91,000/-
Repayment period : 7 years including grace period of one year.
11. Eco hatchery for carp seed production and extension services.
Objectives : To breed commonly cultivated carp varieties and other culture varieties.
Project cost (Approximate)
Capital cost - Rs.4,55,000/-
Recurring cost - Rs.1,48,850/-
Repayment period : 5 years including a grace period of one year.

Implementation of the project
The project may be taken up either individually or on joint/group basis by agriculture graduates. The outer ceiling for the cost of the project by individual would be Rs.10 lacs and for the project by the group would be Rs.50 lacs. The group may normally be of 5, of which one could be a management graduate with qualification or experience in business development and management.
